The villa is ten minutes’ walk from the centre of historic Kalkan, a very beguiling place and one of the most beautiful locations on Turkey’s stunning turquoise coast. Kalkan nestles beneath the Taurus Mountains which form a dramatic backdrop for the town, this beautiful town offers wonderful sunshine and tranquillity, and according to The Times “some of the best restaurants in the eastern mediterranean“ with over 150 restaurants to choose from catering for all budgets.
There is a lively market in the town each Thursday, the town is very well catered for with a selection of supermarkets, greengrocers, bakeries and butchers.
The “old town” area has a good selection of shops selling high quality leather goods, clothes and ceramics, all found on enchanting bougainvillea filled streets, which lead down to the harbour, here you can enjoy a meal in one of the many harbour side restaurants or take a shared or private boat for a relaxing day exploring the small islands and bays, with swimming, snorkelling and meals included.
Kalkan itself has a small beach which sits alongside the harbour, the spectacular sandy beaches at Patara and Kaputas are only a 15 minutes’ drive away.
Reliable sunny weather ensures that water sports are a joy, there are five beach clubs in Kalkan most offering snorkelling, diving, water skiing, jet skiing, banana boat rides and swimming, the beach clubs have restaurants and sun terraces with stunning sea views.
